How much of a Yaoi fangirl are YOU?

How much of a yaoi fangirl are YOU?

Do you love yaoi, hate it, or not even know what it is? This is the quiz for you.

1. When someone asks you if you like yaoi, you…

A. Give a small chuckle of affirmation and sigh dreamily. Who can resist the allure or intensity of boy love?

B. Shift awkwardly from foot to foot and reply “uhhh… no.”

C. Tell them you haven’t the faintest clue what they are talking about.

D. Shriek “hell yes!” and start to drool a little as you gush incomprehensibly about OTP slash pairings and “amazingly hott butt secks”.

E. Wince imperceptibly and then proceed to make your opinion on the “ perversion of modern society by the tolerance and embracing of homosexuality” known.

2. When you ship characters in fan media, your favorite pairings are usually…

A. A good mixture of slash and het. It’s all about which characters have good chemistry and the potential for realistic (at least somewhat canon) passion.

B. Heterosexual. You don’t really like to think about two guys doing it… it kind of freaks you out.

C. Nonexistent, at least you think. What on earth does ‘ship’ mean, anyway?

D. Slashtastic man-on-man! You ship whoever the two hottest guys in the canon-verse happen to be, even if they have never actually interacted.

E. Heterosexual, of course! Gayness is something to be reformed, not to be a fan of, for crying out loud!

3. If you happened to see two men holding hands, dancing, or cuddling together, you would…

A. Smile brightly, but try not disturb them. As cute as they are, you want to treat them like any other couple.

B. Avert your eyes and pretend that you didn’t see them.

C. You don’t know. You’ve never really thought about it before.

D. Scream, hyperventilate, and then dash over with a camera and demand a photo and/or video of the two (insert a sexual activity here).

E. Snort disapprovingly and make a piercing remark as you move away quickly from the perverts.

4. On the Day of Silence this past year, you participated by (this is assuming that you yourself are straight)…

A. Wearing a button proudly and by remaining silent. You did so in order to show your support for all types of love, and your understanding of the difficulties faced by LGBTQ in the closet every single day, not just one.

B. Saying “hi” to people who participated or wearing a speaking Ally sticker. You didn’t want to be mistaken for a gay student or be picked on for overtly supporting the cause, but you also wanted to show people that you have tolerance and are not a homophobe.

C. Not doing anything. You’ve never heard of the Day of Silence.

D. Reading more yaoi, of course! Gay guys are only worth paying attention to when they’re hooking up with other guys.

E. Organizing a protest of the day and ignoring all the “fag enablers” who participated for three weeks afterwards.

5. The best form of yaoi is found in…

A. Classy literature and fanfiction, and fluffy fan-art. The descriptions/depictions of relationships make the entire scenario more intense, powerful and loving than in any other way besides actually being a man in such a situation.

B. Anything without physical involvement. It’s okay if the characters care about each other in a romantic way if you don’t have to imagine beyond feelings.

C. You don’t know. You now know what yaoi is from taking this quiz, but you’ve still never experienced any.

D. Homoerotic novels, gay porn, explicit fanart, or (best) live. Great yaoi can fulfill a certain craving… :P End of discussion.

E. Nowhere! There shouldn’t be any “yaoi”; it is the promotion of a vile and sick disease.

6. Your close male friend comes out to you as gay. You…

A. Are proud of him for being himself, and flattered that he trusts you enough to tell you this. You give him a hug, tell him you support him 100% (and you mean it), and offer a willing ear if he ever needs to talk about feelings or relationships. You also suggest several good websites to go to where he can read good yaoi, if he so wishes.

B. Tell him that this doesn’t change anything (even though it does in your mind) and that you accept him. However, you really don’t want to hear anything about his feelings for other guys, so you gradually stop hanging out with him as much.

C. Don’t know how you’d react. You’ve never had to deal with that kind of situation.

D. Shriek, cry, and start gushing about all the best yaoi you’ve seen and pull some out from on your person and shove it in his face. You then offer him a generous monetary reward if he gives you a photo of himself in a compromising position with another guy to drool over.

E. Never speak to him again. He is spawn of the Devil, and will taint you with his uncouth and dirty thoughts and actions.

Results:

Mostly A’s: You are a true yaoi fangirl. You see yaoi as true love, and get swept up in the romance. Of course, a few lemons now and then are quite enjoyable too. But best of all, you are not afraid to show your appreciation of yaoi to the world and you support real-life gay causes too. In short, you are awesome!

Mostly B’s: You are not a yaoi fangirl, but that doesn’t mean that you are homophobic either. You respect people who are gay or who like yaoi, even if you are not so hot on the whole idea yourself. Maybe your religion says it’s wrong, maybe it’s really foreign to you, or any other number of reasons. You are tolerant despite being uncomfortable with homosexuality, and that makes you a decent person. Try expanding your horizons and seeing what’s out there- you may find that yaoi isn’t so bad after all.

Mostly C’s: You are not a yaoi fangirl, but you have the potential to become one. You don’t really know anything about yaoi now, but have no real objections to homosexuality in general. Read fanfiction and browse fanart, and see if it strikes your fancy. Why did you take this quiz? Because you wanted to find out something new, and being open to new experiences is the only way anyone ever learns to embrace diversity, such as becoming a yaoi fangirl.

Mostly D’s: You are an insane, lust-driven, rabid, SCARY yaoi fangirl. You are probably a sex addict, as you can’t stop watching gay porn or reading erotica. You have no respect for real life gays, and only see homosexuality as a good thing because of the sex appeal. Tone down your addiction to the sexual context of yaoi before you don’t have a life anymore, and look for the romance you see in heterosexual relationships within gay ones. Sex isn’t everything, and once you stop and experience the full breadth of what yaoi has to offer, you might find that you like it even better than before.

Mostly E’s: You are the farthest thing from a yaoi fangirl. You are anti –gay all the way and are very vocal about your opinions and no one is going to change your mind. You are prejudiced against other human beings for something that is completely natural and out of their hands. It is you who are sick, not homosexuals. Homophobia is a social disease. If you cannot tolerate others, then why should anyone have to tolerate you?

Hope anyone who actually looks at this enjoys it. And I know I'm a bit biased. If you're an "E", I have to wonder what you're doing poking around my profile, considering the themes of my work...
